CLOSE-UP MAGIC Close-up magic happens RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE.  This is some of the most stunning, visual and mind-bending magic you can imagine!  My close-up magic is perfect for events where your guests are milling about, chatting, listening to music, etc. It makes cocktail receptions, hospitality suites, wedding receptions, fundraisers, Bar Mitzvahs and other kinds of social gatherings absolutely UNFORGETTABLE. As a strolling magician, I simply work my way through the event venue, performing close-up magic for small groups and individuals. The strolling magic I perform uses a great deal of audience participation, comedy, and mind-boggling magic.  The magic is largely classical in that it uses cards, rings, borrowed objects, ropes, etc.  Dollar bills float or end up stuffed inside oranges, signed cards switch places or end up in my wallet, my shoelaces magically tie themselves...and a great deal more. Close-up magic can also be performed in a more formal setting where the audience is seated and watching the performance. This is ideal for dinner parties, sales meetings, birthdays and other events with small audiences in small venues.

STAND-UP and STAGE PERFORMANCES

The  Stand-Up Show I am currently performing is titled "A Brief (yet thorough) Introduction to the Wonderful World of Prestidigitation." This show highlights many of the lessons in sleight of hand that I learned from my former teacher and grandfather, Ed Watkins.  The show takes the audience through a hilarious, magical outline of classic magic tricks and illusions packed with laughter, surprises and a magical canary! This show includes some classic stage illusions, such as The Guillotine.  During this hilarious trick an audience volunteer really gets put on the spot.   The show also contains some original variations of classical routines.  Imagine a watching a magician perform a a card trick while standing INSIDE a fully-inflated, six foot latex balloon!   Picture a STRAIGHT JACKET ESCAPE in which I wager $100 with an audience member that I can not only escape in 30 seconds, but pick his or her pocket without being noticed from INSIDE the straight jacket!   Like my close-up performances, this show utilizes a great deal of audience participation.
